Course objectives:

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic concepts used in territorial studies and the main topics in the study of the English-speaking countries. In the first part of the course students will be introduced to the crucial approaches to the study of politics in the English-speaking region. Different conceptions of the English-speaking region, key milestones of the formation of the region and contemporary actors in political processes taking place in the region will be presented.

Requirements on student
|
Combined examination will reflect knowledge of topics covered in lectures and of readings assigned in syllabus. To gain credits students will need to elaborate a paper. Students regularly read assigned texts in Czech and foreign languages and prepare assignments on a regular basis. The assignments are in the form of oral presentations or texts; this will be arranged by mutual agreement between lecturer and students. Assignments will be evaluated by lecturer. Presentation generally lasts about 10-20 minutes, standard length of papers is 10-20 standard
